Priorities by 3 Blonde Beavs
Priorities are what set the great athletes apart from the average. More time running, extra reps in the gym and a drive to continue on when you are bruised and beaten at 3 a days.
But, I’m not here to talk about the athletes. I’m here to talk about fans. Fans with tickets in hand. Who go to the recruiting dinners, spring games and read every article and blog they can get their hands on. These are the fans (like me) who consult their football schedule before committing to any social event during football season. I and maybe some of you out there may have been accused of being insensitive to our friends and family who schedule major events (weddings, baby showers, etc) during football season. Remember even if you get married on a bye week eventually your anniversary will fall on a game day and then what? Some of 3 blondes even attempted to schedule pregnancies around football season. Don’t ask me how, it wasn’t me:)
Everyone has choices. I choose football. I’m sorry, I still love you. Please forgive me.
Dyana,
I think scheduling pregnancies and weddings around the Beav’s schedule officially puts you in the “maniac fan” category. Awesome… love it! Now, I know that Chris isn’t the only one!!
Wait until I post the photos of Chris “From Man to Maniac” you’ll be headed out to do your own photo series.
So good to see you on our blog!! Hope to see you soon. In the meantime — Go Beavs. Don’t tell Chris I posted that ; )

Is it possible that the “manic” can lay resting inside your husband until some great event such as the Iowa State Cyclones beating the Oklahoma State Cowboys two weeks ago? It think this is possible. I think I have proof. My husband is a Iowa State grad, and while loyal, enthusiastic and committed to the Cyclones, his behavior has changed. He has pictures and video on his phone that everyone who has seen him in the last few weeks have seen of the game. Did I mention he was there! Thanksgiving conversation centered around this him at the game. And now…thoughts of going to a bowl game. We’ve never really talked about this, but I know it is lingering as a definite possibility for him. His texting with other Iowa State grads has increased dramatically! Yesterday, sadly Iowa State lost to Kanas State, but I know more about that game and I was NOT watching it. I was at a UNI Panther game, but every minute I had the score, time, down, yardage needed, etc of the Iowa State game. This has never happened before. I think I’m living with a Cyclone Manic…well maybe two as our son Justin is a little crazier! I think it is awesome. I do fear though that my 3 year old son who is a crazy Panther fan now is going to take a turn for Cyclone territory.
Juli — I’m sorry… he’s definitely caught this affliction from his friend Chris! Perhaps you can be the star of the Iowa version for the book. As for JACK… that boy is my favorite and most die-hard Panther Mini-Maniac. ; )

Hi ladies! I just wanted to write and thank you for running such a fun and informative blog. I have been following for a few months now and I look forward to your posts every week! I began dating my duck “maniac” in 2010, and have been loving the Ducks right along with him ever since
Unfortunately, I went through two whole seasons before I came across your blog and book (time in which I definitely made some girlfriend-rookie mistakes!) My boyfriend and I have already shared some wonderful Duck memories and although he takes the meaning of ‘dedicated fan’ to an entirely different level, I can’t help but love and respect his passion for the game, team and school. It is just so nice to know there are other women out there who get it! Thank you again
-Lindsey Parker
PS: We recently got a puppy together and named her Autzie after Autzen Stadium! I love the name but I get some strange looks when people ask where her name came from!
Thanks Lindsay!!!! So glad you found us! You are certainly one of the gang.
Mind if I repost your comment in our blog?
Wasn’t it nice the ducks had a week off? It was my birthday and it felt like the best present ever!!!
Does your duck know that Mr. Autzen was a beaver?? A little something we learned researching the book!
Thanks!!!!
