For months I’ve been putting up decorations and taking them down. First Halloween, then Thanksgiving, then Christmas, and then of course, our favorite holiday last week – THE NATTY! Up go the kid’s art projects, the window clings and the ornaments… then a few weeks later, down they go, back into the basement.
After months of festiveness hanging here and there, I was relieved to get the house back to normal. I packed away The Natty decorations and breathed a sigh of relief for the clean slate. For a few months (or about 320 days), there would be some respite from the green and yellow. (Of course, I love the Ducks too, but everyone needs an off-season, right?)
And then… I turned around and saw this….

My son’s collection of all things green and yellow; all stacked up like a little Oregon tribute. The apple does not fall far from the tree.
Then, after the kids went to bed… I found this little trio of items needing to be put away…

It might be the off-season, but let’s be real… the ducks are everywhere… at least at my house! What bit of duck-stuff has become a permanent fixture at your place?
PS: The title of this post is in tribute to Ree, The Pioneer Woman, who frequently shows us real life inside the ranch with posts of the same title. Thanks for the inspiration Ree!
